The Master of Arts in Ombudsman Law and Governance is a comprehensive and specialised programme that equips you with a deep understanding of the legal and governance frameworks surrounding the Office of the Ombudsman. You will explore Ombudsman Law from constitutional, administrative, and comparative perspectives, while also delving into the fundamentals of governance from a public policy viewpoint. With a focus on practical application, this degree will provide you with valuable insights into comparative governance, advanced privacy and data protection law, as well as international protection of human right. The program's research component will enable you to develop your research skills, while the international perspective it offers will open doors for employment opportunities in various international and regional bodies. Upon completion, you will be capable of processing complaints, advising on Ombudsman matters, and communicating effectively with the public about the Ombudsman鈥檚 role and functions. This Master's degree will ultimately equip you to contribute meaningfully to good governance and public administration.
a Bachelor degree obtained with at least Second Class Honours or with at least Category II, in any other area of study deemed relevant by the Board of Studies or
a Bachelor degree obtained with at least Third Class Honours or with at least Category III, provided that they have obtained other qualifications, including relevant experience, following the first cycle degree or
any other qualification deemed by Senate, on the recommendation of the Board of Studies, to be comparable to the qualifications listed in paragraphs (a) and (b).
The admission of applicants under paragraph (b), and if necessary, (c) shall be made conditional on the result of an interview conducted by an interviewing board appointed for the purpose.
