| DESCRIPTION | The study-unity aims to promote creativity and develop listening, critical thinking, and cooperative learning. The course focuses on the understanding and comprehension of composition as a collaborative act. A creative process that is applicable in a music education setting and its challenges consequently acknowledge and differentiate between music in education and music education rationale (Grixti 2020). Therefore, identifying, providing, and enhancing applicable new knowledge, skills, and practices as required, including but not limited to an array of tools and techniques, The focus of written assignments will be to develop musical ideas and notation methods that are friendly to read, to rehearse in a reasonable time frame, and to successfully perform. That is from the drawing board to the audience. The computer will be used as a tool to explore these and other related practices, supported by a SMART approach. Study-Unit Aims: The primary reason for incorporating composition into the music curriculum is to foster a holistic and informed musical understanding and practice. Composing is a student-centred activity, hence aligning with the 21st century educational rationale of problem identification and problem solving. Learning Outcomes: 1. Adopt and adapt the logistical and circumstantial needs as required, and how well they are secured. 3. Comprehend the social correlations and implications of composition through a lateral approach, its variables, and successful criteria. 2. Skills: By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to: 1. Realise critical listening against a particular background and style, and evaluating its outcome 2. Appreciate verbal and written communication modes, differentiating their use, and gauging their impact 3.
