DESCRIPTION Objectives:

To explain the division of medicinal plants in different plant families and ways and means to preserve the plant species in situ and ex situ, using modern and traditional methods.

Contents:

Main medicinal plant families (Compositae, Labiatae, Cruciferae, Umbelliferae, Rosaceae, Liliaceae, etc.); Wild Stocks and cultivated species; Conservation (in situ, ex situ, genebanks); Cultivation practices of common herbs (propagation methods, irrigation, fertilisation, pest and disease management); History of Herb use (Culinary, Medicinal); Traditional medicine (data acquisition and sorting); Poisonous plants.
