| DESCRIPTION | Objectives: The aim of this study-unit is to take a comparative look at the Political, Religious, Intellectual and Scientific scenarios in seventeenth-century Europe. During the course of studies, students will be introduced to a general survey of the social, economic, and political structures as well as tot the religious institutions and beliefs common at the time in Europe. In this study unit, the styles of the great Baroque philosopher of the seventeenth century will be examined in relation to their message and in comparision with those of the great artists who were their contemporaries.
