DESCRIPTION | This study-unit focuses on the process of writing up a qualitative dissertation using Problem Based Learning (PBL). Here, students will use their own problems to dig deeper into each stage of their dissertation writing process and get a better understanding of what is required to conclude their dissertation successfully. A special focus is placed on Thematic Analysis and students are introduced to Computer Aided Qualitative Data Analysis (CAQDAS) like NVivo. Study-Unit Aims: The study-unit impart students with in-depth knowledge of the dissertation writing process using the qualitative approach through Problem Based Learning. Learning Outcomes: 1. Knowledge & Understanding: By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to: - Plan their dissertation process; - Understand the aims of each section of the dissertation; - Distinguish between a well or a poorly written dissertation; - Comprehend what is expected of them in each chapter. 2. Skills: By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to: - Write each chapter of their dissertation in line with the guidelines provided; - Check that their work is up to standard; - Work within the time frame allowed for the dissertation.
