DESCRIPTION The dissertation should be done under the supervision of a member of the teaching staff. The dissertation should not be less than 20,000 and not more than 25,000 words and will be expected to involve original research and to demonstrate a close linkage with the material covered in core or elective courses. The topic is to be selected by the participant and approved by the Faculty which reserves the right not to accept titles for which it cannot provide adequate supervision. In submitting the dissertationproposal students shall abide by the dissertationguidelines as may be issued by the Board of Studies from time to time.

Those participants following the course on a full-time basis must submit the dissertation not later than the end of the third semester . Part-timers should submit their dissertation not later than the end of the sixth semester of their course. The Board may in its discretion grant a candidate an extension of the submission date up to a maximum of six months, where such an extension is justified and recommended in writing by the supervisor.
