DESCRIPTION | Study-unit Aims: - To introduce the types and role of Primary Elements in Buildings. Learning Outcomes: - Ability to identify role of different components in a building; - Ability to define the main functional requirements of primary elements of a building, including roofs, walls, floors, beams and columns and foundations; - Ability to prepare simple construction details of primary elements; - Ability to source information on functional requirements and specifications; - Ability to relate functional performance with appropriate selection of materials, of construction forms and methods.
