| DESCRIPTION | The Studio Practice study-unit provides a dynamic environment where students refine their specialised artistic processes through immersive and critical engagement with creative practices. It bridges the gap between theory and practice by fostering an investigative approach to art-making. Through this study-unit, students will deepen their understanding of their discipline, explore interdisciplinary opportunities, and develop innovative methods that reflect their artistic vision. This study-unit recognises that studio-based practice is not merely a mode of production but a means of enquiry. Students will learn to research through their creative processes, enabling them to generate knowledge, critically evaluate their work, and contextualise their practice within broader cultural, historical, and contemporary frameworks. The study-unit encourages autonomy, collaboration, and reflection, preparing students to navigate the complexities of professional artistic practice. The Studio Practice Study Unit will be divided in the following streams of specialisation: • Animation • Digitisation and Immersion • Game Art • Illustration • Photography • Painting and Drawing • Sculpture and Installation • Sound Art and Design • Video and Screen Media Study-Unit Aims: - To provide students with specialised mentorship and a platform to develop and refine their specialised artistic practices; - To encourage a research-driven approach to art-making, where creative practice becomes a tool for inquiry and knowledge generation; - To foster critical reflection, self-awareness, and responsiveness in artistic processes; - To prepare students for professional engagement within the arts and related industries.
