DESCRIPTION The study-unit is a critical link between creative practice, academic achievement and professional competence, focusing on equipping students with the skills needed to turn the multi-layered context and complex creative thinking which support their practice into structured and compelling presentations. This study-unit recognises that in the creative industries, the success of one's work is frequently determined by the efficacy of their presentation.

Drawing on the Department's extensive experience and academic competence, the unit offers an immersive learning environment in which students engage with the many facets of professional communication to develop clear presentations that maintain intellectual integrity while achieving practical objectives. Through exposure to diverse presentation scenarios, students develop the versatility and confidence needed to succeed in various professional settings.

Study-Unit Aims:

- Develop students' advanced presentation strategies for communicating complex creative concepts;
- Master students' techniques for engaging diverse audiences, from industry professionals to potential clients to the general audience;
- Cultivate their confidence in public speaking and idea articulation;
- Teach students how to adapt communication styles for different professional scenarios;
- Hone students' skills in visual and verbal presentation design;
- Help students understand and implement effective storytelling techniques in professional pitches;
- Provide students with professional feedback from practicing artists and industry-experienced faculty;
- Give students exposure to various presentation contexts and requirements.

Learning Outcomes:

1. Knowledge & Understanding:

By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to:

- Create engaging visual and aural presentations;
- Articulate their concepts clearly and logically;
- Weave an engaging narrative around their work based on multi-layered contextualisation;
- Analyse successful presentations through peer review;
- Identify and understand audience psychology and engagement.

2. Skills:

By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to:

- Confidently present complex creative concepts to diverse audiences;
- Design and structure effective presentations for various professional contexts;
- Adapt communication strategies based on audience and purpose;
- Handle Q&A sessions and professional feedback professionally;
- Utilize modern presentation tools and technologies effectively.
