DESCRIPTION This study-unit is available during the summer period and attendance is compulsory. The student will be exposed to clinical sessions in the various fields of Dentistry, within the University Teaching Clinic or alterative sites as deemed necessary by the Faculty.

Official timetables will be customized according to the project availability and also to the class's requirements.

Study-unit Aims:

The aims of the study-unit is to further expose dental students to clinical practice in the various disciplines in Dentistry.

Learning Outcomes:

1. Knowledge & Understanding
By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to:

- Describe the chair-side layout;
- Describe how to provide chair-side assistance;
- Explain the principles of handling of dental materials;
- Describe the dental procedures performed in the different disciplines.

2. Skills
By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to:

- Perform various dental procedures;
- Handle Dental Materials;
- Carry out basic dental laboratory procedures.

 
ADDITIONAL NOTES Attendance to scheduled sessions, inclusive of lectures/tutorials, practical, laboratory and clinical components is compulsory. Students who do not attend at least 90% of the scheduled sessions will not be allowed to sit for any of the assessment components mentioned below.

This study-unit is assessed on a Pass/Fail basis.
