DESCRIPTION | This study-unit deepens language skills related to everyday-life situations acquired in the study-units German for Beginners on the levels A1.1 and A1.2 (CEFR). Students will learn and practice language use in everyday-life situations and related to simple topics, such as talking about personal details, explaining daily routines, wishes and needs, as well as requesting information. After the course, participants will be able to use basic sentence patterns and phrases, a range of vocabulary related to various familiar contexts and mostly routine, recurring situations, providing the language skills to get by in common situations in a German-speaking context. The study-unit is based on a communicative approach in class with a focus on applied German, starting from everyday-life situations to covering more broad topics as well as more specialised language use. Training includes all language skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing, which are practiced according to the levels achieved. Study-unit Aims: The study-unit is designed to deepen students' language skills related to everyday-life situations acquired in the study-units German for Beginners A1.1 and A1.2 (CEFR). Learning Outcomes: 1. Knowledge & Understanding: By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to: - show a more profound understanding of correct German language use (reading, listening, speaking, writing) in everyday-life situations; - have a range of vocabulary related to various familiar contexts and mostly routine, recurring situations. 2. Skills: By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to: - use basic sentence patterns and phrases as well as a range of vocabulary related to various familiar contexts and situations in a routine handling; - get by in common situations in a German-speaking context.
