| DESCRIPTION | This study-unit consolidates students鈥� language skills on B2 level; C1 level may also slowly be introduced. Depending on the students鈥� interests, the study-unit can also focus on themes specifically related to the students鈥� (future) professional environment; for example, typical situations encountered such as looking for a job, taking part in a meeting, dealing with customers, giving technical instructions and other topics related to the students鈥� particular fields of study. Study-unit Aims: - enhance students鈥� language skills with regard to speaking, listening, reading and writing; - to provide students with a more complex understanding of German terminology related to their field of specialization; - to train students in understanding more complex texts in German related to various professional fields; - to train students in writing texts in German related to their field of study by making use of specific terminology. Learning Outcomes: 1. Knowledge & Understanding By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to: - understand the main ideas of technical and scientific texts; - understand specific German terminology used in various sectors; - follow a professional conversation in German related to various sectors. 2. Skills By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to: - write formal and informal texts related to the professional environment; - effectively interact with German speakers (in the work environment).
