| DESCRIPTION | This study-unit will offer immediate support to teachers who are teaching MFL and registered for this study-unit in order to avail themselves of practical skills on how to plan and implement lessons with learners of MFL. This study-unit will give an overview of the existing programmes, discuss schemes of work, lesson plans and lesson aims related to the context of teaching MFL to migrants, and provide information on available resources that support the teaching and learning process. The teachers following this study-unit will be given the opportunity to try out lesson plans and resources, evaluate them and report on their experiences. Study-unit Aims: This study-unit aims to provide immediate support to teachers of MFL who feel the need to improve their skills and knowledge in this area. The students following this study-unit will improve their ability to teach the language skills (listening, reading, speaking, writing) in relation to the established MQF levels. It will overview the existing support structures, such as learning outcomes (LoF), list of topics suggested by the syllabus, and teaching material and explain how best these can be implemented in the classroom. It will also allow teachers to plan and implement teaching tasks, to evaluate them, and to discuss their findings with their colleagues in a supportive learning environment. Attention will be drawn to the relationship between MQF levels, the CEFR, the FREPA, the LoF and the SEC assessment criteria in MFL, and attention will be given to language and intercultural competence. Learning Outcomes: 1. Knowledge & Understanding By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to: 1. Refer to all the documents relevant to MFL, such as curricula, syllabi, LoF, SEC assessment criteria, and the FREPA; 2. Explain what the learners are expected to be able to do at each stage of the learning process; 3. Access relevant teaching/learning material in MFL in electronic and printed format; 4. Evaluate the relevance and quality of teaching material in MFL according to learners' needs. 2. Skills By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to: 1. Plan a scheme of work for a number of weeks targeting specific learning outcomes and assessment criteria in MFL; 2. Write lesson aims and lesson plans, taking into consideration the skills needed by learners of MFL; 3. Implement tasks and lessons in the classroom; 4.
