DESCRIPTION This study-unit introduces students to the legal position and implications of conducting business via internet. Theories relating to business transactions are covered. It delves into matters related to how traditional ways of legal analysis have been modified as a result of the advent of the internet. It will also examine ways through which the law attempts to address issues which have increased in importance due to the widespread use of the internet in everyday business life.

Study-unit Aims:

To provide students with the knowledge required to be able to perform within the legal boundaries in an emergent information society and to give advice accordingly.

Learning Outcomes:

1. Skills:
By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to:

- perform in conformity with legal procedures in aspects pertaining to e-business and the virtual environment;
- manage IT systems in accordance with legal provisions.
