| DESCRIPTION | The study-unit will introduce the subject matter by analysing spiritual theology as a theological discipline. It will introduce the students into the foundations of spiritual theology covering the phenomenological and dialogical approaches. Moreover, participants will be given the tools of spiritual theology as used in the descriptive, systematic, hermeneutic, and mystagogical methods. Study-Unit Aims: - To present Spirituality as a theological discipline; - To co-relate with other branches of Theological discipline; - To elucidate the foundations and the main pillars of the methodology used in Spiritual Theology. Learning Outcomes: 1. Knowledge & Understanding: By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to: - Establish, in theological terms, the divine-human interaction; - Analyse the inner processes of Spiritual transformation; - Recognise the humanistic foundations of spiritual thought; - Value a multifaceted approach to Spiritual Theology. 2. Skills: By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to: - Critically appraise the rudiments of Spiritual Theology with a scientific approach; - Critically combine the deductive and the inductive methods in use within the area of Spiritual Theology; - Differentiate the diversity of spiritualities within human experience.
