DESCRIPTION | This study-unit is continuation of the first two years of studies. Students will learn further differentiation of sound, dynamic and vibrato as well as using all possible kind of bowing and fingering technique required to become a professional violin player. Study-unit Aims: This study-unit is aimed to summarize all knowledge and technical skills received in previous years of studies, make a strong connection between technical skills and interpretation according to the style and genre of the musical piece reaching a high level of proficiency in violin playing. Learning Outcomes: Knowledge & Understanding By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to: a) identify specific techniques of playing polyphonic pieces on string instruments; b) recognise different bowings according to style and character of each particular piece; c) explore a wider knowledge of the existing violin repertoire; d) scrutinise he musical structure of the selected pieces; e) better understand a concept of musical phrasing; f) identify the main technical and stylistic elements of playing; g) identify the most effective method or methods of practicing selected musical pieces. Skills By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to: a) produce perfect intonation and change of positions; b) use different forms of vibrato; c) play different and more complicated combinations of chords and double-stops.
