DESCRIPTION This second study-unit on personal and professional development builds on the learning that took place in year 2. The learning will take place in 2 hourly sessions across the whole semester. The learning will be interactive and collaborative, whereby students will be given a range of learning tasks to complete in small groups which facilitate the application of the knowledge (focusing on learning theories and approaches, management and leadership theories and approaches, and current philosophies) to practical situations that they have encountered or may encounter in the future.

Study-Unit Aims:

- Prepare students for the transition to practice (from student to worker) across a broad range of settings, through a recognition of how current theories and/or approaches of leadership, management and learning shape the development of the professional self, identity and integrity.
- Enable each student to reflect on their own evolving personal values, beliefs, attributes and world-views, and recognise how these influence a disposition to ongoing self-assessment, self-direction, self-management and resilience, in anticipation of becoming a registered nurse practitioner.
