DESCRIPTION | The dissertation for streams mainly by research shall be approximately 40,000 words in length (excluding headings, tables, references, and appendices), A manuscript shall be written in accordance with the guidelines for authors, as per the journal selected for submission (as directed by the supervisor). Refer to Malta Medical Journal or Xjenza for provisional guidelines [http://home.um.edu.mt/science/xjenza/author.html]. It is not imperative to actually have the Manuscript accepted for publication. If the work has been already published as collaborative work, the student must state clearly that his contribution with a declaration from the supervisor. Learning Objectives The candidate is expected to: 1. address a specific research objective 2. to document a thorough understanding of the main issues in the chosen field of study 3. to demonstrate command of the research skills |

ADDITIONAL NOTES | Pre-requisite Study-unit: PAT5953 **September Assessment Session: Students who fail to obtain an overall pass mark will be re-examined in the Dissertation. However, the resit availability for the Oral Examination is at the discretion of the Board of Examiners. |
