The study-unit content will be divided into a number of topics including: arousal, stress and anxiety, arousal regulation, concentration, imagery, dealing with injuries, burnout and overtraining, goal-setting, eating disorders and weight management in athletes, drug-abuse in sport, career improvement programmes, challenges faced by migrating athletes, case studies in sport.

Practical sessions will also be held. Furthermore, a number of videos/dvd’s will be used to elaborate on certain concepts. This study-unit will also draw upon the students’ experiences of sport and exercise to help provide a specific frame of reference for the study of human behaviour in sports.
