DESCRIPTION Project management skills are an intrinsic aspect of an organisation's management competencies. In this constantly changing environment, project management tools are seen as being instrumental in ensuring good practice by achieving positive results when it comes to delivering quality projects consistently. It is critical that the project鈥檚 objectives are achieved within a physical education and/or sporting context and completed within budget and set time-lines. This study-unit focuses on developing the soft and hard skills needed to succeed in the development, implementation and evaluation of a successful project within the school context as well as the wider community. Moreover, the project-based learning approach, in which participants develop a project connected to their school's overall objectives, and/or wider community setting, ensures hands-on practical experience.

Study-Unit Aims:

- Introduce students to current project management methodology from planning the planning phase, to execution and evaluation;
- Demonstrate administrative and behavioural issues in the management of projects and propose creative ways on how these can be overcome;
- Encourage students to develop a reflective approach to their own experiences throughout the whole project life cycle.

2. Skills:

By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to:
