DESCRIPTION | This study unit covers the way the study of formal logic has developed in Western philosophy. It provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the application of logical thought, enabling them to apply logical thinking to various problems. Study-Unit Aims: The study-unit aims to introduce students to the methodologies used in different logical systems. Students will also be encouraged to apply their learning in a practical manner Learning Outcomes: 1. Knowledge & Understanding: - consolidate their knowledge of logical thought; - engage critically with primary texts in logic; - appreciate different approaches to key philosophical questions through the use of logical methods; 2.
