DESCRIPTION | In this subject students will study in detail the lower extremity problems of specific groups which are seen in podiatric practice, as well as issues involved in dealing with these groups of clients. Objectives: At the end of the module students will be able to: - Show an understanding of the podiatric manifestations, treatment and management of a wide range of medical conditions which affect the lower extremity. - Show an understanding of conditions related to sports injuries, how the lower extremity is affected and their management. - Identify and critically discuss recent research studies in the various subjects covered in this module. - Describe the importance of health education and maintenance of a healthy lifestyle. - Identify and critically discuss recent research studies in the lower extremity problems.
