DESCRIPTION | This study topic focuses on strategic planning as a management framework that leads managers and organizations. Students will gain a solid understanding of the theoretical and practical challenges surrounding strategic management and decision-making in this section. Students will be able to analyse strategic leadership techniques, as well as educated strategies for improving contingency readiness and setting demanding, realistic, and achievable goals. This study unit allows students to investigate the successful learning of decision-making models, as well as a reaction to social reasons and a practical perspective on case studies. Students will be encouraged to apply what they have learned in class to a variety of situations involving spatial planning. Study-Unit Aims: The goal of this study-unit is to teach participants how to think about, implement, and organise the adjustments that are required to make a new strategy, vision, or purpose work in today's changing environment. It will first concentrate on creating fundamental strategies followed by the setting up of plans to assist an organisation in achieving its vision or goals. The goal is to improve and deepen strategic thinking and ability so that participants and their organisations can create meaningful futures. Through determining the appropriate blend of operational excellence, strategic concerns, and possibilities, the study-unit will promote the production and encouragement of successful strategic thinking as a central core component. Learning Outcomes: 1. Knowledge & Understanding: By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to: - Relate theoretical insights to strategic planning issues; - Identify strategic success and failure and learn from them; - llustrate the importance of environmental scanning; - Identify the global business environment of the 21st century; - Illustrate the interaction of strategy, structure and business processes; - Recognize an overview of risk in a business environment. 2. Skills: By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to: - Apply business analysis and contingency planning; - Think analytically while still being creative; - Apply learned concepts in relation to making the best use of scarce resources through informed decisions; - Use appropriate models for decision-making; - Establish goals that are complex, realistic, and attainable; - Build a strategic planning team.
