Below are the documents that you will need to consult once you are accepted to read for a Doctoral degree. These documents may be updated from time to time and it is recommended that you access the documents directly from this webpage in the course of your doctoral journey.  

All Doctoral Students are required to access the eSIMS portal through the University of Malta account in order to complete their enrolment. The University of Malta email account should be activated as soon as possible. Non-EU/EEA students are required to pay the deposit within three weeks of receiving the Letter of Acceptance. The UM offers tuition fee waivers of 40 to 100 per cent to most deserving Non-EU/EEA students. Students who have been accepted with international qualifications will be able to enrol on the course after the original certificates and their passport or identity card have been verified at the upon their arrival. These are located at the back of the student house on campus (Area 49 on the campus map).

Council appointed members of staff and Research Support Officers (RSOs) can be considered for a fee waiver through the relevant form and submit it by email to: scholar.hrmd@um.edu.mt. More information can be found on the dedicated webpage.

Doctoral researchers must also comply with the University’s Research Code of Practice and the University’s Research Ethics Review Procedures and complete an Ethics and Data Protection form. Full details are available on the UREC (University Research Ethics Committee) website.
