Authors: Ponniah, Umakumaran; Overholt, Ed
Abstract: this article reports a case of a seven-year girl who presented with severe dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM)
associated with a large thrombus in the left ventricle (LV). She had a long segment stenosis of the
lower thoracic descending aorta, possibly due to non-specific aortitis and underwent successful
stent angioplasty. The LV thrombus resolved after heparin without sequelae.2014-01-01T00:00:00ZEctopia cordis : a report of two cases in CameroonChelo, DavidMbassi Awa, Hubert DesireNguefack Dongmo, FeliciteeMenanga, Alain P.Ngo Um, SuzanneNde Kamgne, M.Koki Ndombo, Paul O./library/oar/handle/123456789/43192017-12-21T14:30:33Z2014-01-01T00:00:00ZTitle: Ectopia cordis : a report of two cases in Cameroon

Abstract: This article reports two cases of ectopia cordis in two children aged one day and twenty months respectively.
A one day old newborn had complete thoracic ectopia cordis associated with an internal cardiac
defect and severe thoracic and abdominal wall malformations. The centre does not have the
facilities to manage complex congenital defects and prior to being transferred to a cardiac centre,
the neonate died on the second day of admission. A 20-month old baby had partial ectopia of the
heart and a defect in the abdominal wall. He had no major congenital cardiac defect and has
remained clinically stable with no life threatening symptoms2014-01-01T00:00:00Z
