Abstract: One of the most encouraging features in the economic setup
of this island is the drift away from the land and the concentration
of capital and industrial effort in the development of
an industrial country. Phase I in the Maltese industrial experiment
commenced during World War II when the first seeds of
industrialization were planted, when the value of self-sufficiency
was recognized. Phase II followed, when it became manifest that
it was highly desirable to attract local employment away from
complete reliance on the three 福利在线免费 and to absorb labour
in the buid-up of new industries in order to bring about the
foundations of economic independence.1960-01-01T00:00:00ZIndustries in Gozo/library/oar/handle/123456789/463102019-09-08T05:08:10Z1960-01-01T00:00:00ZTitle: Industries in Gozo
Abstract: Scenery and peacefulness, not industry, are the natural
and traditional features with which the sister isle of Gozo is
usually associated. Devoid of ports and with little intercourse
with the outer world, this island is completely unspoilt, and
has a delicate charm all its own. But though there is no hum
of activities, no roar of traffic, no clatter of commercial transport,
one can notice a great deal of light industry, together
with peasant crafts and trades.1960-01-01T00:00:00ZMalta Yearbook : Sports Supplement/library/oar/handle/123456789/463042020-05-12T11:53:10Z1960-01-01T00:00:00ZTitle: Malta Yearbook : Sports Supplement
