Due to their specific job, which is service to the Homeland, soldiers acquire many unique competencies that they could or use during their retirement employment. A professional soldier employed before 2013 can retire after 15 years of service. According to the latest research, more than 8,000 soldiers have left the Armed Forces over the past two years. That shows how many educated people could still function in the labor market. Failure to use this potential is a waste of a valuable resource, highly useful in the civil labor market. The results of the conducted research concern the situation and competencies in work in retirement according to the opinion of the retired officers of the Armed Forces and employers/superiors employing retired officers. Design/Methodology/Approach: The study uses the method of analysis and criticism of the literature. This made it possible to complete a bibliography related, inter alia, to competences. Additionally, a heuristic method was used to interpret the cited definitions. Another method used in the work was the comparative method. The main research tool was questionnaires developed by the co-author, addressed to retired officers and employers/ superiors of retired officers. The first section presents an analysis of the foundations of the theory of trust in the context of shaping leadership. The second part describes the research methodology and presents the results of the research representing the issues discussed. Next, the author presents conclusions from the research that emphasize the importance of trust in the development of contemporary leadership facing the challenge of constant change and uncertainty. Design/Methodology/Approach: The aim of the article was achieved by carrying out an argumentative review of the literature, which was the basis for designing methodological assumptions for further research. A diagnostic survey was chosen as the main research method. Such targeted research made it possible to learn about the respondents' position on the subject of the research problem and to compare them with the analysis of desk research. Thus, they made it possible to draw conclusions. Findings: Contemporary changes and uncertainty affecting society and organizations favor relationships based on distrust and upset the sense of security. The research analysis presented in this article will indicate trust as a key factor that underpins the relationship between the leader and his followers. At the same time, it is a basis for further empirical research. Practical Implications: Building the leadership of the future must be based on trust, which is open to new ways of thinking, facilitates the release of the team's energy, shortens decision-making time, thereby allowing for the quick action and thus change. Originality/value: The research perspective allows for a conclusion at the core of leadership is the ability to instill trust and the leader's credibility. Based on the elements identifying trust in leadership proposed in the article, it is proposed to change the perspective recognition of leadership. A leader who can build a high level of trust may count on gaining in his/her employees more energy to act and take up new challenges, which are the strength of the organization and push it forward. They are presented in the context of the image-building activities of the unit. Analyzes and generalizations were made, which constitute original recommendations for further actions. The subject of the analysis were activities shaping a positive image of the organization during anti-crisis activities. Design/Methodology/Approach: The article uses a research method - an analysis of media reports conducted by the spokesman of the Military University of Land Forces. Additionally, the research method of participant observation was used. Findings: In the time of a pandemic, information channels and media meeting the requirements of fast and effective communication in emerging threats have been exposed. These determinants are now the most essential to successful Public Relations. Practical Implications: Recommendations were proposed for building a positive image of an organization such as a military university in the future, but it may also apply to other military units, more broadly - uniformed or paramilitary, participating in crises. Originality/value: The experience gained in the specific, difficult conditions of the epidemic allows us to propose actions shaping the image of the Armed Forces as a formation serving society in times of peace. Countries that were candidates to the European Union were obliged to introduce mechanisms of improving efficiency of public resource spending, including introduction of an independent audit and a new system of managing public units, oriented on fulfilled aims and tasks. Design/Methodology/Approach: The analysis was conducted with the usage of qualitative, comparative and praxeological methodology. Findings: The evaluation of harmonisation process of an internal audit and internal control of public finances’ sector in Poland after sixteen years of joining the EU, according to authors, is rather positive. In the pre-accession period Polish experts supported by EU specialists made an attempt to withdraw from the past administrative control and to follow an independent control, objective. An internal audit consistent with international standards prepared by the institute of Internal Auditors was introduced after two years of accession to the EU, in 2006. A professional management control was introduced after five years of accessing the EU, in 2009. Practical implications: All researches in terms of harmonisation and improving internal audit and internal control allow to build management mentality and morality in public finance sector. They are all the source for internal auditors. Originality/value: Several activities undertaken and fulfilled by the government in terms of harmonisation, improving an internal audit and management control in the sector of public finances during sixteen years from the accession to the EU, were presented. 2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
