Authors: Hanson, Malcolm
Abstract: I find ghosts incredibly attractive creatures. Cast aside the
traditional chain-rattling "boo!" image and you are left with
something tantalisingly seductive. The very idea that one might
be visited in the night by an alluring sexy vamp (or, if you are
female - a brawny, red-blooded Heathcliff) seems to me a very
attractive proposition; after all, we are only human. They, of
course, are something else entirely and need to be treated with
great respect... and, perhaps, in some cases, great caution.
The ghosts of Valletta - and of this ghost walk you will
discover, are extremely tantalising and attractive creatures too
(well, some of them are, anyway - there are others that may
not quite fit that description).
All have one thing in common - they are as real as you and I.2007-01-01T00:00:00Z³¢-²¹±è´Ç±ô´ÇÄ¡¾±Âá²¹/library/oar/handle/123456789/621912020-10-25T06:21:24Z1995-01-01T00:00:00ZTitle: ³¢-²¹±è´Ç±ô´ÇÄ¡¾±Âá²¹
Abstract: Bnedmin kbar, nies ta' spirtu qaddis, għalliema u għorrief iżejnu lill-umanità b 'għemilhom, bi ħsibijiethom u bi kliemhom. Sokrates jasal u jsib postu fil-kumpanija ta' dawn permezz ta' leħen il-ħabib tiegħu Platun. Donnu li f'apoteosi ta' l-ironija (mill-grieg "eirein": jitħaddet, jitkellem) jagħżel lijerħi 'l ħaddieħorjitkellem għalih, eżattament il-maqlub ta' li jiġri f'din l-Apoloġija, din id-difiża li hu jagħmel tiegħu nnifsu bi kliemu stess. B 'hekk f'waqt wieħed Sokrates jitkellem u ma jitkellimx u jiskot, fis-sens tal-bniedem li, quddiem il-mewt, jidħol fis-skiet tiegħu nnifsu ... il-bniedem !'siktu. Ir-raġuni, f'Sokrates, issib is-skiet tant elokwenti tagħha. F' din l-Apoloġija Sokrates jixhed li hu l-qaddej t 'Alla u juri ċar u tond kifreħa r-rieda tiegħu tkun ir-rieda t'Alla. Imma fl-istess nifs huwajagħtina d-dehra tiegħu tal-ħajja tal-bnedmin u jinseġ fiha l-ħajt tad-deheb, id-daħq u l-umoriżmu li jnaddaf u jħoll il-qlub. Ħajtu, Sokrates. jużaha biex iħeġġeġ u jrawwem l-aqwa fil-bniedem u }irnexxilu b 'hekk jixħet is-sisien tas-soċjetà kif nafuha (madwar il-Mediterran u lil hemm minnu) dawn l-aħħar elfejn sena. Sokrates qatt ma jikkundanna, qatt ma jmaqdar. Meta joħodha, joħodha kontra l-injoranza u l-kupidità ; qatt kontra l-bniedem. BI-Apoloġija, Platunjaqta 'ċ-ċavetta li tiftaħ il-bibien tat-tiġdid, b 'tali mod li nsibu l-istudju tax-xogħlijiet tiegħu fil-qalba ta' kull rinaxximent li seħħ kemm fid-dinja Għarbija u kemm fl-Ewropa s'issa. Authors: Riolo, Vincent
Abstract: Introduction to logic offers a grounded, step-by-step reconstruction of the basic elements of classical propositional logic. A constructive logic with a wider scope is hinted at but not developed further. Emphasis is placed on the objectives which can be attained by means of the linguistic objects being introduced; in this way, the roles of both the sender and the receiver of messages constructed out of these objects are taken into account.2001-01-01T00:00:00ZThe Development of Philosophy in Malta/library/oar/handle/123456789/559662020-05-17T05:14:22Z2017-02-12T00:00:00ZTitle: The Development of Philosophy in Malta
Abstract: In this article, Anthony Zarb Dimech explains the development of Philosophy in Malta. The thinking, reasoning
and logic has been shaped first by the Ancient Greek Classical Philosophy, but was also influenced by European thinkers spanning over many centuries. Zarb Dimech divides the Maltese Philosophy into different historical periods or time blocks: Pre-Knights Period (pre-1530), Period of Knights Hospitallers (1530-1798), Inter-Regium Period (1798-1813), British Colonial Period (1813- 1964) and Post-Independence Period (1964-).2017-02-12T00:00:00Z
