Authors: Bonello, Giovanni
Abstract: The Holy Infirmary, at least in theory, bore witness to the very raison d'etre of the Order of St John the care of the infirm. If the knights came to be known as the Hospitallers, it is because the care of the sick became their historical mission through the centuries, a mission they never abandoned.2007-01-01T00:00:00ZThe stethoscopeMangion, Kenneth/library/oar/handle/123456789/8032020-06-05T12:40:13Z2007-01-01T00:00:00ZTitle: The stethoscope

Abstract: LS is a 13-year-old boy who presented with a one month history of difficulty in falling asleep. He was accompanied by his mother, who asked that he be prescribed some form of sleeping pill to solve the problem, because she was worried that it was affecting his concentration at school.
DT is a 23-year-old gentleman whose sleep duration had decreased progressively over the previous three months, from 5 to 6 hours per night to a maximum of 2 hours per night. This lower extreme had now lasted nearly 3 weeks, and he felt that it was completely "wrecking" his daytime routine, with what he described as "very low levels of consciousness and alertness" throughout the day.2007-01-01T00:00:00ZHand and wrist configurations in patients with Carpal Tunnel SyndromeGalea, Laurence A.Gatt, RaySciberras, Carmel/library/oar/handle/123456789/8012021-03-24T08:21:55Z2007-01-01T00:00:00ZTitle: Hand and wrist configurations in patients with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Authors: Galea, Laurence A.; Gatt, Ray; Sciberras, Carmel
Abstract: The association between hand and wrist configurations was investigated in this study. The hand and wrist dimensions of sixty patients with carpal tunnel syndrome and sixty healthy control subjects were measured using specific anatomical landmarks. The palm width was significantly greater in the patient group. There was no significant difference in the hand length between the two groups. Both the wrist width and wrist depth were significantly greater in the patient group. The hand ratio and the wrist ratio were significantly smaller in the patient group indicating that the latter had squarer hands and wrists than the control group respectively. This suggests that the anatomy of the hand and wrist may predispose to carpal tunnel syndrome.2007-01-01T00:00:00Z
