Authors: Gaglio, Raimondo; Mancuso, Isabella; Macaluso, Giusi; Palmeri, Marisa; Todaro, Massimo; Settanni, Luca; Reale, Stefano; Cardamone, Cinzia; Scatassa, Maria Luisa
Abstract: In the last years, the microbial characterisation of traditional Sicilian cheeses, such as Caciocavallo Palermitano, Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) Pecorino Siciliano and PDO Vastedda della valle del Belìce have been the object of different studies conducted by our research group. To this purpose, the aim of the present study was to describe the microbial population of traditional Sicilian cheeses.2017-01-01T00:00:00ZOdonata of the South-eastern swamp lakes ‘Pantano Cuba’ and ‘Pantano Longarini’ (Sicily)

Title: Distribution and current status of Hermit Beetle populations in Natura 2000 protected areas in Bulgaria
Authors: Bekchiev, Rostislav; Kostova, Rumyana
Abstract: The first information about this species in Bulgaria was reported by Yoakimov, Markovic and Nedelkov between 1904 and 1909. Since then, data about O. barnabita from Bulgaria was only published in four papers between 1960 and 2005. In general, about 20 localities were known for this species, mainly in the South-western and South-eastern parts of Bulgaria. This communication provides an overview of the problems related to the proper taxonomical status, new distribution information, habitat modelling, monitoring and appropriate measures for protection and conservation of O. barnabita.2017-01-01T00:00:00ZNeuroptera (Insecta) of Pantelleria, the Pelagic Islands and the Maltese archipelago : towards an annotated checklist with new records

Title: Neuroptera (Insecta) of Pantelleria, the Pelagic Islands and the Maltese archipelago : towards an annotated checklist with new records
Authors: Pantaleoni, Roberto A.; Loru, Laura; Mifsud, David
Abstract: Mediterranean islands have a high ecological and biogeographical significance since they bridge the gap between Europe and North Africa. However, many factors make it difficult to decipher their biogeographical patterns. Taking into account published and unpublished records, a revised and annotated checklist of the Neuroptera found in Pantelleria, the Pelagic Islands and the Maltese archipelago was compiled.2017-01-01T00:00:00Z
