The braconid species of Malta belong to 13 subfamilies, of which two are the richest in terms of species diversity: Braconinae with 10 and Microgastrinae with 16 species. One Microgastrinae, Dolichogenidea zerafai sp. n. is described and distinguished from closely related species. The majority of the known species are widely distributed in Europe or in the Palaearctic. The braconid material is deposited in D. Mifsud’s private collection, with a few duplicates in the Hungarian Natural History Museum, Budapest. 2015-01-01T00:00:00Z The family Ceratopogonidae (Diptera, Nematocera) in Malta /library/oar/handle/123456789/2776 Title: The family Ceratopogonidae (Diptera, Nematocera) in Malta Authors: Gatt, Paul Abstract: An account is given of the 21 species in the family Ceratopogonidae that occur in the Maltese Islands, including 13 new records. 2015-01-01T00:00:00Z The family Simuliidae (Diptera) in Malta /library/oar/handle/123456789/2775 Title: The family Simuliidae (Diptera) in Malta Authors: Gatt, Paul Abstract: An account is given of the 3 species in the family Simuliidae that occur in Malta, including 1 new record 2015-01-01T00:00:00Z The picture-winged flies and related families (Diptera, Tephritoidea) of the Maltese Islands /library/oar/handle/123456789/2774 Title: The picture-winged flies and related families (Diptera, Tephritoidea) of the Maltese Islands Authors: Ebejer, Martin J. Abstract: An account of the Tephritoidea of the Maltese Islands is presented, based on a review of the literature and an examination of new material. The nomenclature of older records is updated. The family Lonchaeidae is represented by only three species, one is a new record, the Piophilidae by a single species, the Tephritidae by 27 species, three of these are new records, and the Ulidiidae by four species, two of which are new records. Pallopteridae, Platystomatidae and Pyrgotidae have never been recorded from Malta. 2015-01-01T00:00:00Z
