Title: The present state of music in Malta
Abstract: In this article I intend to give an idea of the present state of music in Malta. I regret to ,have to start on a sad note. The foundation stone of the new Opera House after the modified project of Zavellani-Rossi of Milan, was to have been laid by H.R.H. Prince Philip in mid-March, 1955. However, owing to the outstanding liabilities of the War Damage Fund, the Hon. Prime Minister Dom. Mintoff stated that the project would be postponed, although he, personally was not against the plan. More time, he said, was required for reflection.1956-01-01T00:00:00ZMalta Yearbook : Tourism

It would be necessary to note at the outset the fundamental characteristic of ancient political administration and international relations. This was the independence of the city-state. On this the nature of Roman Imperial rule for long depended.1956-01-01T00:00:00ZThe Balogh Report
