The community received a warm welcome and enjoyed the support of distinguished members of the Order of St. John, who frequently sought the religious services of the Discalced Carmelites. This patronage also took the form of various artistic endeavors, including paintings by Mattia Preti and Lucas Garnier. The history of this complex is indeed rich, and the artworks that remain within its walls include invaluable masterpieces. This article will focus on two of these pieces that have recently been restored by Amy Sciberras Conservators.
