More specifically, this study aims to identify new words that were conceived due to the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as evaluate entomological changes in existing words. Methodology: Secondary desk research was utilized, by comparing different articles from different reputable publications based in Spain. The subject types for each article and cut-off date were chosen to be similar in each of the 3 publications chosen for cross-referencing and analysis purposes. Findings: Findings from this study show, that throughout the publications chosen, through the different periods chosen, there was indeed a significant change and addition to new words caused by the global pandemic, with all articles displaying tendencies to utilize such novel language. Research Limitation: The study is impacted by the novelty of the core research question and lack of literature available on the subject matter. It is also impacted by a time and resources limitation to go deeper into the research question. Future research could make use of this study, as well as supplementing it with both quantitative and qualitative research for a more accurate picture of the implications COVID-19 has had on the Spanish Language. Practical Implications: This study can be used as an initial insight into how pandemics can have an effect on written language, and can be a baseline for future studies on the impact on other languages to provide insights into possible trends of language change due to global pandemics. This period of Mexico's history included the forty-year dictatorship known as the Porfiriato and the Mexican revolution that followed. During this era Mexican society was very patriarchal and anti-feminist. Being a woman meant being deprived of many social privileges particularly those involving education, careers and governance. The emergence of feminists to some extent may have been influenced by what was happening in other Spanish speaking territories of South America and Europe but the focus of this study is to identify the influence of one particular woman Rita Cetina Gutiérrez and her influence on a generation of women who followed her and were inspired by her to the point of making changes of substance to the cause of women's emancipation that was to follow several years after Rita Cetina Gutiérrez passed away; in particular Rita Cetina's Siempreviva foundation, magazine and educational institutions. There is no doubt that the final victory for feminists with the obtaining of the Vote for women of 1953 very much had its roots embodied in the vision of this great Mexican lady and personality that Rita Cetina Gutiérrez indeed was. In many ways, the war was the culmination of conflicts left unresolved by World War I, after a tense 20-year hiatus. It was a brutal war because it left 40,000,000-50,000,000 dead, making it the largest and bloodiest war in history (Britannica, 2021). The objective of this memory is to reveal the influence of World War II on the Spaniards, namely, soldiers of the Blue Division and the Republic, women and families, from the point of view of Carla Montero, a contemporary novelist. This book consists of three parts that narrate the story of two stepbrothers, Lena and Guillén, in three different stages; the Spanish Civil War, World War II and the post-war period. During all these phases Spain had always been divided into two; the nationalist side and the republican side. In addition, in El invierno en tu rostro, Montero gives us the point of view of both a nationalist and a republican to understand both sides and to also show the rough adventures they went through during the war. It is through a comprehensive analysis of both the novel and testimonies and anecdotes that I intend to show the dark reality of war and that not only the soldiers were the protagonists of the war and its consequences, but also women and families. In the first chapter, I will give information about the author herself and the mentioned novel and also about some of her relatives who were also veterans of this war. The following two will tackle the Second World War, first giving a historical context and then deepening the analysis of the Spanish people. Description: B.A. (Hons)(Melit.) The first part investigates what Spanish society was like before the Second Republic. Here, we talk about the development towards modernization, the socio-economic situation and the living conditions, in particular, those of women. In the second part, we analyse with special interest the issues of discrimination, oppression and domestic violence in the series, highlighting the life stories of the main female characters.
