To achieve them, management tools and systems should be introduced to improve the efficiency of resource management that the company has. By optimizing the level of current assets one can reduce costs, which has a positive effect on the company profits and the level of financial liquidity. Therefore, improving the efficiency of wealth management is an important element of business management. The purpose of the article is to show how standardized quality management systems affect the efficiency of managing current assets and their basic components Design/Methodology/Approach: The analysis was carried out on a group of 159 trade companies. The research period covered the years 2015-2017.The enterprises surveyed were divided into those that implemented quality management systems (52 enterprises) and those that do not use this type of solutions (107 enterprises). Then, analyzes were made and the results obtained by the associated enterprises in individual groups were compared. The analysis of financial indicators and basic statistical methods (average, median) were used as the basic research tools. Findings: The introduction of quality management systems is designed to improve the efficiency of business management, also has the large impact on costs. The decrease in costs reduces the price of products and goods sold. Practical Implications: The results demonstrate that quality management systems have the significant impact on the price, which is the most important criterion for buying goods or services Originality/Value: Analysis showed that enterprises which use quality management systems manage their assets more efficiently compared to enterprises that do not use quality management systems Tue, 01 Jan 2019 00:00:00 GMT /library/oar/handle/123456789/50818 2019-01-01T00:00:00Z What works for disadvantaged unemployed : private or public ALMP services? Evidence from Poland /library/oar/handle/123456789/50817 Title: What works for disadvantaged unemployed : private or public ALMP services? Evidence from Poland Authors: Gajderowicz, Tomasz; Jakubowski, Maciej Abstract: Purpose: This paper aims to assess the effectiveness of public vs. private active labour market policies (ALMP) for disadvantaged unemployed. The literature on the efficiency of contracting-out ALMP services by public institutions is not consistent. Formalism and limited scope of possible actions in public institutions stand in the way to activation of the less promising unemployed. On the other hand, contracted-out companies work as a black-box and are paid a success fee. Design/Methodology/Approach: We used (conducted by accident) Randomised Control Trial evaluation of the contracting-out ALMP services program in Poland. We used public registers data from Poland. Findings: We found a strong positive effect of support provided by contracted private agencies. This effect was found to be the strongest among the most dismissed groups of the unemployed. Practical Implications: Study shows that success-fee for external institutions and lack of hard frames assures incentives compatibility that results in real improvement of the unemployed situation, even a year after the end of the intervention. This conclusion should result in adjustments in active labour market policy. Originality/Value: The uniqueness of the study lies in scale of the RCT experiment and robustness of conculusons. The golden standard of evaluation allowed for gaining indisputable evidence on the effectiveness of particular ALMP instrument. Without this kind of analysis, public decisions can turn out to be wrong and lead to the closure of effective programmes (as it happened with contracting-out ALMP services), and investment in programmes that do not provide any effective support for those in need. A comparative assessment of Poland's competitiveness against selected European countries has been made in the study. The main objective was to present the conditions of international tourist competitiveness of rural areas in Poland in comparison to other European areas. Design/Methodology/Approach: An in-depth analysis of Poland's competitiveness as a tourist region against the European countries was carried out taking into consideration individual indicators of the second pillar. The study uses a synthetic tourist competitiveness index and panel regression to demonstrate the determinants of this phenomenon. Findings: On the basis of the conducted research, it has been shown that the natural and landscape value of Poland's agricultural areas is highly assessed on a European scale. Therefore, for many consumers in the European Union, Poland is increasingly seen as an attractive region for tourists. At the same time, the importance of these factors in the demand for tourist places has been demonstrated by distinguishing selected aspects of these conditions. Economic factors affecting internal demand as well as environmental and institutional conditions turned out to be the key ones. Practical Implications: The presented considerations are of great importance for practical reasons. They constitute an indicator which, under certain conditions can influence the increase of tourist competitive attractiveness of rural areas in an international perspective. Therefore, they allow to indicate the proper structure of investments and activities aimed at valuing public goods by both private and public entities. Originality/Value: The development of rural areas in the current conditions requires the development of non-agricultural and non-production functions. The article indicates the importance of individual resources and conditions in the proposed model. Not only was their role emphasized, but mutual relations between the factors considered were determined. It presents the essence and classification of supply chains and the interpretation of global supply network management. Design/Methodology/Approach: Using systems theory as a basis, a RFID utilization and outcome(s) performance model was developed from the literature. The study uses surveys conducted among twenty companies in the 2016-2017 research year. Enterprises that use RFID technologies in the supply chain were analyzed. Findings: The Findings indicate that application of RFID technology leads to improved manufacturing efficiency and manufacturing effectiveness, while improvement in efficiency lead directly to improved organizational performance, and improvements in effectiveness lead directly to improved supply chain performance. Practical Implications: Certain policy implications and obligations accrue are companies that use RFID technology in their supply order to manage the company more efficiently. Originality/Value: The publication presents the results of research carried out in enterprises using the new RFID system as a modern technique of supporting supply chain management to increase the efficiency of cooperation throughout the entire supply chain.
