Technological developments have enabled relationship management to adopt systems that support strategic relationship management, although CRM goes beyond basic technological applications. This study, which is grounded in the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), seeks to identify which factors are considered by financial services firms when deciding whether to implement customer relationship management systems (CRMSs). Data was gathered via semi-structured, in-depth interviews held with executives from twelve financial services firms. Thematic Analysis was employed to detect and identify those variables that could influence any issue generated by the participants. Limitations and implications were identified and areas for possible future research were recommended. The dissertation findings add value in terms of business information and intelligence for business executives of local financial services firms. The findings from interviews identified relevant factors and how participating firms are utilising CRMSs. Results indicated that participating firms adopted CRMSs to focus on improving customer experience by enhancing the quality of the client relationships, including improving the quality of communication with customers, and to comply with regulatory requirements. Firms that did not adopt a CRMS had specific reasons for not doing so. The study reaffirmed that the posits of TAM applied in the case of the firms that implemented the CRMS and also highlighted the positive culture that prevailed across most participant firms. The main focus of the research is the style and use of editing techniques that said filmmakers employ to make their films so successful. The product of this dissertation is a short film that incorporates the filmmakers’ postproduction techniques that were studied and personally observed. This journey is highlighted in the methodology journal. The vision for this film was to capture a mundane situation and make it seem as though it is greater than it actually is in real life. The literature review of this dissertation begins with a study of the development of film editing. The main focus of this chapter in the prestigious work of the prominent filmmakers in question, specifically the editing techniques they make use of. In the analysis, I examine how the editing techniques I personally observed, are used effectively in their films and compare them to how I used them in the short film. Moreover, as part of the process of this research I discover their cinematographic style, which is hinted at in the short film. As I alternated between the use of continuity editing and visible editing, I managed to incorporate their work while also giving the short film; ‘Less Than 5 Minutes’, my own unique take as a director and editor. This research project aims to visually provide examples of what factors affect confidence in a photoshoot setting such as, the participants’ feelings about themselves prior to the shoot, the photographer and their attitude, and the environment. It also seeks to explore whether the medium of photography can change one’s attitude about themselves to the better. Data was collected through mixed methodology by using quantitative questions in the survey and qualitative observations, shooting the portraits and one-on-one interviews. All the data collected has been analysed, and results to my purpose of research have been obtained. A book entitled “Aura” was created with the photos and information gathered from the photoshoots and interviews. Description: B.Comms. (Hons)(Melit.) The social and psychological implications are analysed. This research is significant due to emerging studies showing that our increasingly digital society has implications on our wellbeing, such as hampered creativity and an excessive focus on perfectionism. Furthermore, examining the continued relevance of ‘defunct’ technologies is important, as there might be something to be learned from staying in touch with our origins. Primary research was conducted through a questionnaire that was distributed online to analogue photography communities on an international scale. Some obstacles encountered include the inability to field respondents from all parts of the world, such as South America and Oceania, and limited channels of distribution. 50 respondents participated in the study, and both their simpler quantitative answers and in-depth qualitative answers were analysed. The results show that there are many reasons why analogue photography continues to be relevant and causes for concern about the proliferation of digital photography. However, an equal number of respondents expressed the two mediums can exist side-by-side. Themes such as mindfulness, tangibility, and community emerged, and respondents emphasised the desire to escape from digital technology. This research shows that there are benefits to embracing older mediums, despite being anathema to modern technology and values. Future research could examine the positive impacts of analogue photography in greater detail. Description: B.Comms. (Hons)(Melit.)
