Amor disfrazado : la homosexualidad en le Espa帽a a principios del s. XX

Abstract

The main objective of this thesis is to analyse how homosexuals were treated in Spain at the beginning of the 20th century. Try to discover the positives and negatives that were presented to them. Apart from this, this thesis explores whether there is a difference between male same-sex couples and female same-sex couples. The methodology used to achieve these objectives are through two case studies, that of Federico Garc铆a Lorca and that of Salvador Dal铆 and that of Elisa and Marcela. In the first part of the dissertation, the theoretical framework is defined, discovering a brief history of homosexuality in Western Europe, referring to Spain at the beginning of the 20th century. In the second part, the results obtained were critically analysed. It was concluded that although these were good times, both couples had to hide the love they had for each other in one way or another, it all depended on how much they were willing to risk. Gender might have made a difference in that Elisa and Marcela were willing to risk more as opposed to Salvador Dal铆.
