Abstract: This research examined the context of social divide in Malta, and whether cultural policy can be used as a facilitator to help promote social integration. After a review of existing literature and current policies in Malta, interviews were conducted to try to find answers for the established questions. It transpired that the Maltese people are more willing to integrate and live in a multicultural society (Marmara, 2022), while some others still feel that Malta still lags when it comes to the social idea. The study strengthens the argument that cultural policy can indeed be used as a tool to help promote integration in Malta. A major limitation in this research was the sample size as some representatives were not willing to be interviewed. The implication of such research is that, in the last few years, Malta seems to have made progress in social integration between the Maltese and foreigners. This research also determined that more policies should be drawn up to help promote integration. An option to creating a policy using a work-scheme programme was given and discussed in detail.
