Abstract: The multidimensional impact of infertility on canonical marriages is explored in this dissertation. The historical evolution of infertility and its medical treatment, the ethical concerns surrounding assisted reproductive technologies, and their compliance with the Church teachings are examined. The canonical perspective is central to this study, with the impact of infertility on the bonum prolis in the context of a canonical marriage, along with the validity of the matrimonial consent and the pastoral approach to infertility being appraised. The current Church positions on infertility treatments and their effect on marriage dynamics are being critically evaluated, whilst offering insights into the relationship between doctrine, faith and pastoral care, encouraging informed discourse and comprehensive support for infertile couples.
