| Abstract: | This was the 17th verification mission undertaken by the CLC2000 Technical Team, and the only CLC2000 mission covering Malta. Malta is contributing to CLC2000 in the frames of the twinning programme, with cooperation with the Federal Environment Agency (UBA) of Austria. Following the preparatory visit of TT coordinator in Malta (June 2003), MEPA (Malta Environment and Planning Authority) has submitted the technical proposal for CLC2000-Malta to EEA. No formal CLC2000 training was requested, and photointerpretation (with field checking) has been accomplished in early August with the help of two UBA experts. Only CLC2000 database is produced for Malta, and not the CLC-change database, as CLC90 has not been implemented in Malta. |
