Abstract: Mushrooms have long been valued for their medicinal and therapeutic properties, and recent research has expanded their significance by highlighting their role in sustainability. Various mushroom species, including Ganoderma lucidum (Reishi), Grifola frondose (Maitake), Trametes versicolor (Turkey Tail), and Inonotus obliquus (Chaga), Lentinula edodes (Shiitake Mushroom) and Hericium erinaceus (Lion's Mane) have demonstrated a wide range of health benefits due to their rich content of bioactive compounds such as polysaccharides, bioactive alkaloids, nucleosides, steroids, proteins (enzymes), peptides terpenoids, and phenolic compounds.
