The inhibitors and enablers of imported and exported cargo transiting through the Malta Freeport Terminal

Abstract

This research investigates the inhibitors and enablers that local importers and exporters face during the transit of their shipments between warehouses and the Malta Freeport Terminal (MFT). Data was collected through in-depth interviews with several stakeholders that form part of this transition. This study reveals that the importers and exporters face several obstructions resulting in delayed shipments. These problems were pointed out by the interviewees whilst positive remarks were also noted. The research results were collated.
