| Abstract: | Hernia appears to be very frequent amongst our population. Whether it is more frequent than it is in other countries I am unable to say, and I do not think that the congenital factors which cause hernia occur more often here. The only factors I can think of, which perhaps are more often met with amongst us, are the habit of many of the labouring classes to wear a sash or "terha" round their waist, and the tendency to adiposity. |
