The annual seminar entitled ‘Stepping into a changing accounting landscape’ was organised by the University of Malta, Junior College, Accounting Department on Thursday 12th December 2024 at the Connections Conference & Meeting Facilities, Junior College, Msida. Second year advanced level accounting students had the opportunity to explore different professional paths and gained valuable insights into the accounting and finance professions.
Mr Paul Xuereb, Principal, and Ms Josephine Mallia, Area Coordinator for Business and Technology, at the University of Malta Junior College introduced the seminar. Academics from the Faculty of Economics, Management and Accountancy, the Faculty of ¸£ÀûÔÚÏßÃâ·Ñ and Communication Technology, and the Faculty of Education provided an overview of the pathways to qualify from the University of Malta and the subsequent professional opportunities. The Malta Institute of Accountants exposed students to the evolving role of the accountant and to an alternative pathway to qualify as an accountant.
Workshops led by representatives from six leading accountancy firms engaged the students in discussions that exhibited different facets of the accountancy profession and its continuous evolvement.
