Dance Studies Department academic mobility at the University of Chile

Dr Paula Guzzanti, Senior Lecturer in the Dance Studies Department, recently delivered a series of lectures and workshops at the University of Chile as part of the Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility (ICM) teaching programme.

The sessions focused on key themes from her current book project on critical reflective writing in dance practice and research. Dr Guzzanti is developing a practical framework that offers methods and tools to support dance research, responding to the need for approaches to writing from and about the body within artistic practice. Through her workshops, she shared strategies to help dance practitioners expand their understanding of creative processes and explore new ways of communicating practice.

In addition, Dr Guzzanti delivered a research seminar for faculty members in the Dance Studies Department at the University of Chile. This provided a valuable opportunity to exchange pedagogical approaches and gain insight into the research needs of both students and educators, particularly in relation to resources and tools for dance education.

The Erasmus+ teaching mobility proved to be a highly valuable experience, enabling Dr Guzzanti to reconnect with international colleagues with whom she first established collaboration in 2019. The visit also offered an important platform to further develop and test her teaching practice and writing–dancing methodologies, making a significant contribution to the advancement of her ongoing book project.
