The Sirens’ Chant: Mapping Modern Homeric Wanderings in Joyce and Gogol

A study on James Joyce's 'Ulysses' and Nikolai Gogol's 'Dead Souls', penned by former resident UM academic, , has just been published and launched by Peter Lang (London).

This multi-disciplinary study, entitled The Sirens' Chant: Bloom & Chichikov, deals with the dialectical relationship between the socio-aesthetic and power, as manifested in what the author calls modern Homeric 'wanderings'. 

This publication marks a continuation of Schembri Bonaci’s interdisciplinary scholarship, further consolidating his contribution to art philosophy and comparative literary studies. His work remains distinguished by its capacity to traverse disciplinary boundaries, offering fresh insights into canonical texts and their enduring relevance.
