Professor Lino Bianco, a resident academic at the Department of Architecture and Urban Design within the Faculty for the Built Environment at the University of Malta, will be reviewing the doctoral education programme for the Faculty of Architecture, Urban Planning and Design of the (GTU) in Tbilisi.
Bianco is accredited as the main foreign scholar in this Euro-Asian country who has contributed peer-reviewed articles on architecture in Georgia in a number of scientific journals. In Georgia, the only PhD programme in architecture is offered at GTU. The programme, as reviewed by Professor Bianco, will then be approved by the University's Academic Council, as is the procedure at GTU.
Bianco has lectured on the theory of architecture at GTU and conducted research in poetics of architecture as developed in this former Soviet Socialist Republic post-independence. In 2015, he was conferred honorary professor of architecture by GTU. He piloted the current Erasmus+ inter-institutional agreement which exists between our Alma Mater and this university in Georgia.
