¸£ÀûÔÚÏßÃâ·Ñ

During 2020, the Malta Pharmaceutical Students’ Association (MPSA) had the opportunity to organize a student exchange under the Twinnet programme in collaboration with the University of Rouen, France. In exchange, students from the University of Malta were to visit the University of Rouen, so as to experience pharmacy student life at this university. Initially the student exchange was planned for December 2020, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the organisation of this exchange was postponed and then organized virtually.

Finally in February 2022, the physical Twinnet programme could kick off.  Seven French students came to Malta between 14 and 18 February 2022. The Department of Pharmacy, at the University of Malta, organised a seminar at the Valletta University Campus to welcome the French students. This was an opportunity for the students to share their reflections on their pharmacy studies, experiences and highlights during the visit to Malta.   

During the seminar post-graduate students from Japan, Italy and Malta contributed to expose the student postgraduate perspective.  Insights into opportunities in practice settings and the pharmaceutical industry were provided.  The seminar in Valletta also provided the students with historical overview of pharmacy developments in Malta.  The French group visited the laboratory facilities at the Department of Pharmacy at the Msida Campus and enjoyed a tour around the Msida campus. On a cultural note, the students were shown some of Malta’s most cultural cities such as Valletta, Mdina and the Three Cities.

Between 28 February and 4 March 2022, ten Maltese students embarked on a visit to Rouen. The Twinnet programme facilitated by the European Pharmaceutical Students Association encouraged networking and the exchange of culture, food and traditions between the two student groups.  The active participation of MPSA in the European platform is encouraged by the Department of Pharmacy as a means to provide pharmacy students with a wide skill set in the area of pharmacy. The advice and guidance by the International Office of the University of Malta towards the success of the Twinnet programme is acknowledged.
