Celebrating the Marias at UM on Santa Marija Feast Day!

After a pretty successful St Joseph’s Day activity at UM, where we honoured St Joseph, the patron saint of workers, by interviewing a few faculty and staff members named Joseph, it was time to honour the Blessed Virgin Mary, possibly the biggest feast of the year in the Roman Catholic Church calendar.

This time, female staff members named Mary, Maria, or a variation of the name were invited to take part in a light-hearted activity at the Msida campus.

The Marketing, Communications and Alumni Office filmed short interviews to discover which famous Mary had inspired their name — before treating participants to a refreshing ice cream, the perfect way to beat the sweltering August heat.
