UM academic gives keynote speech at conference in China

Prof. Sergio Portelli was invited by Beijing Foreign Studies University to give a keynote speech during the 23^rd Conference on International Exchange of Professionals, China's largest global expert exchange platform, which was held in Shanghai on 21 and 22 October.

His speech was on ‘The Challenges of Generative AI in Translator Training’. During his visit, he also attended activities related to the 70^th anniversary of the foundation of Zhejiang University in Hangzhou.

Prof. Portelli is a member of the Department of Translation, Terminology and Interpreting Studies of the Faculty of Arts, and is actively involved in collaboration with Translation and Foreign Language schools and institutes of various Chinese universities.
